Founded in 1992, Kirk Day School is an independent, co-ed, Christian preparatory school for students age 3 through sixth grade. Accredited by AdvanceEd (Cognia) and Christian Schools International, the curriculum featured focuses on providing KDS students a spiritual understanding of the world while giving them the richest education available. “At Kirk Day School, we are committed to strive for and maintain a rigorous educational program which nurtures the development of each child’s spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs,” says Head of School Taylor Clement.
Local Schools Sponsor Pajama Day to Support of Kids in Foster Care
Kirk Day School, along with other local St. Louis schools, partnered with One Heart Family Ministries this year by hosting a Pajama Day Fundraiser benefiting the organization. One Heart Family Ministry supports families during the foster care process.
Kirk Day School encouraged students to each bring in a $5 donation to wear their pajamas to school. Collectively, the school raised $1781.00.
A Place To Grow
Perfect ACT scores, national merit scholars, valedictorians and class presidents are not uncommon among the ranks of Kirk Day School alumni, says new head of school Taylor Clement. “It’s exciting to know that what we do here works,” he says of the West County elementary school. “We’re seeing kids have a desire and striving for something greater, and they’re experiencing those successes.” The independent Christian elementary school for students in preschool through sixth grade ranks in the top 10 percent of Christian educational institutions in America, according to Christian Schools International. Many of its students go on to prestigious college preparatory high schools.
Students Raise over $50,000 for their School
Kirk Day School students raised over $50,000 through the school’s unique fall fundraiser. The third annual KDS Color Run took place on Saturday, October 12, but the coinciding fundraiser for Kirk Day School’s Highlander Fund began months before. The Highlander Fund provides scholarship money to students, updates classroom technology and aids teachers with advanced professional development opportunities, among other things. All money benefitting the Highlander Fund is acquired through donations.
